4 Then the people of the land discouraged the people of Judah and made them afraid to build 5 and bribed counselors against them to frustrate their purpose, all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia.
Interesting that while in Exile, the world was trying to discourage the people of Israel from rebuilding the Lord's house. They bribed lawyers; this sounds familiar like lawyers trying to discourage the people from obedience to God and frustrating their intent to follow God. In our case, claiming the Word of God as truth and following it!
